Specifications

Timber used, inside lining

Walls, ceiling and door lined with special tongue and groove Sauna panel with a shiplap profile. (Selected, custom-made products for The Sauna People, imported from Finland). Thickness 12.5mm, cover per board approx 90mm. 12 panels cover 1030mm. The traditional timber for sauna construction is a low resin, slow growing White Spruce with many small knots and pronounced grain. Finnish White Spruce (Sitka Spruce) which has grown slowly to maturity above 60 degrees Northern Latitude is the most common used timber for Sauna panelling in Finland. Spruce is far better than Cedar which becomes dark and stained with water. Spruce is also more dense and durable. Its beautiful light colour brings to mind the white nights of the North. The quality of a good Sauna relies on the wood used. Selected timber 'breathes' and retains and reflects heat to provide the right climate within the Sauna.

Wall Insulation

Walls and ceiling insulated with aluminium double side foil vapour barrier and insulation material.

Benching

Dressed timber boards (Spruce) on supports and frames. Each bench 400 600mm deep depending on the dimension of the Sauna. Bench-board as well as facia-board fixing from underneath. No visible nails or screws.

Duckboards

Dressed Spruce timber boards matching to the wall lining.

Door

Insulated, framed and lined both sides with Sauna panels, as same as for Sauna interior. Large window, wood handles and roller catch or timber jamb with frameless safety glasses door.

Lighting

Bulkhead, heat resistant 210c. Fitted on the rear or side wall between the top and bottom benches.

Ventilation

Efficient ventilation is essential for a comfortable Sauna. The Sauna People's draft-free ventilation system has a ducted vent in the rear wall of the Sauna with an outlet below the benches. Fresh air is drawn through a vent in the base of the sauna, passing and circulating through the Sauna cabin before being expelled through a ducted vent. This allows between 5 to 10 complete air changes per hour, depending how often water is thrown over the heater.

The Heater

Electrically operated Chromium Steel Sauna Heater with thermostat, timer and presetting timer. (Timer 4 8 hours). Large capacity rock container holding 20 40kg of special sauna stones, (imported from Finland) minimising temperature fluctuations and producing a large quality of steam. It is suitable for both, DRY HEAT and STEAM SAUNA COMBINATION. Power required either single or 3-phase, depending on the Heater size. Builders packages available on request
